Jetty or Pier

A jetty is defined by stone construction resting onthe base of the wated bed to restrict flow and protect the harbour. A pier is usually pile-supported decking, generally used as walkways for pedestrians and fishermen. We may not care for their purpose, but their visual beauty of structure which as you know can be tourist attractionsin their own right.
